EGI Solution:
Life Cycle Management
Project Overview: The project is in start up mode and the first orders have been placed. EGI will deliver 3,000 units to the client over the next 5 month period.
Problem: The client was utilizing multiple vendors in order to try and accomplish what the Ergonomic Group is capable of achieving as a single organization.
Challenge: Many obstacles were endured while working with the client. There was difficulty in breaking through the ‘red tape’ of navigating through their large enterprise environment in order to be successful. Functional challenges were logistics, staff support and creating a proposal that would be cost efficient for EGI and the client. The lack of support we received from the client’s corporate office to win this account was both time consuming and frustrating; however, perseverance and patience prevailed, and we are in the process of securing a great contract. EGI will most likely have fourteen to eighteen of our employees on the client’s site as well as millions of dollars in products being shipped this year.
Solution: EGI completed an IBM/Lenovo desktop rollout for the client. The incumbent could only purchase and drop ship the equipment. The Ergonomic group proposed that we not only purchase the product for them, but inventory the product as well as load the operating system and images. Our Professional Services team would deploy the rollout throughout many of the client’s different facilities. We would also work towards attaining the duties of their help desk and other service related desktop functions.
Services & Support:
EGI deployed a complete rollout consisting of 4 certified desktop technicians rolling out products as part of the client’s team.
EGI leveraged 8 help desk persons to function as part of the client’s team.
EGI leveraged 2-3 desk side support personnel to be part of the client’s team.
EGI leveraged the NY configuration center to place images and operating systems onto the product before it arrived at the client’s loading docks.
EGI warehoused a surplus of inventory in order to supply the client with extra products as product on demand.
Result: EGI won this account based on our ability to secure a product, deliver it at a fair market rate, warehouse the product, configure & asset tag the product, deliver the product and deliver reports on all products purchased. The Encompass tool has played a big role in winning this opportunity.
Customer Feedback: Even though we are still in the early stages of rollout with the customer, we are receiving high grades for our ability to adjust on the fly & accommodate to the clients needs on a whim. All of this is being accomplished while still delivering the same high quality product that they were accustomed to receiving.
